All food handlers under the MLC are required to have a level 2 food safety certificate for the UK flag state the MCA (Maritime Coastguard Agency). However, some flag states for example Cayman Island and the Marshall Islands require Level 3 as well. It is an excellent practice that all supervisors in the food environment are trained to Level 3 so they can manage the team effectively in food safety and maintain high standards. This short course is an introduction to the supervisor's role as part of the full L3 qualification
