Upon completing this course, you should be able to understand the fundamental principles of electrical systems in the maritime industry and understand how to identify electrical hazards specific to marine environments and apply safety measures to prevent accidents. You will gain an awareness of compliance with international and local regulations governing marine electrical installations and equipment. You’ll also have an awareness of how to implement best practices for the safe operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of electrical systems on board ships, as well as familiarising yourself with various electrical safety equipment and protective devices used on ships.
