It is the employer’s responsibility to ensure the employees have received this training. The course provides basic theoretical knowledge of fall protection measures and equipment.

Objective:

Water Control and Management for Human Consumption course is carried out in accordance with the Maritime Labour Convention 2006 (MLC 2006) and the Guidelines of the World Health Organization (WHO) 2008 (Guidelines for Drinking-Water Quality, Recommendations, 3rd Edition Volume 1). This course wants to contribute to the training of the personnel assigned to the control of the waters on board, and to all those who use water for their tasks. Moreover, the course is directed to those with the responsibility of the verification of compliance required by Title 5 of the MLC 2006 (Title 5. Compliance and enforcement). This course will cover the fundamental trigonometry for studying AC current, voltage and impedance calculations; phasors (vectors) are used and combined mathematically lending themselves to several needs to rely on trig functions and identities. We shall then cover: Point Lines and Angles, Intersecting and Parallel, the Pythagorean Theorem and finally delve deeper into trigonometry with a look at unique triangles, rations, unit circles, trig identities, etc.

Inspections have now become the primary focus in assessing the condition of vessels and the competence of all on board. It has an oversized impact on the image of the company, management, staff on board and commercial viability. This course guides engineers and crew on how to prepare an E.R. for inspections. With the focus shifting increasingly towards 'human factors'; it’s a requirement that all Seafarers are knowledgeable about their responsibilities and duties, concerning operations, maintenance, safety, emergency preparedness and environmental protection. It's also important for ship staff to be able to demonstrate confidence in accessing company instructions where required, as it has become an integral part of the inspection regime.

This module introduces the key elements of conducting an appraisal. It focuses on the planning and preparations that are required before an appraisal takes place. By taking this course you will gain skills and knowledge on how to conduct appraisals professionally and effectively.

We shall cover the fundamentals of rotating electrical equipment; this will include AC and DC motors and generators. Starting with the basic theories required and finishing up with some example problems. We shall start simple and then build upon your knowledge by working through several examples. Upon completion of this course, the student will have a working knowledge of DC motors and generators including the commutation elements. This includes three-phase and single-phase induction motors and how synchronous generators work alone and are connected to larger systems.

Varighet

Varighet på kurset er 4 dager, inkludert verneutstyrsmodulen. Den første kursdagen består av e-læring som du gjennomfører når du ønsker, utenfor kurssenteret og før du møter på kurssenteret for praktiske øvelser.

1 kursdag er 8 timer med minimum 6 timers effektiv opplæring

Created to complement the valuable information contained in the ASCO Packaging Standards Handbook, this extensive course takes the users through the principles and techniques of good packaging standards.

Delivered in multiple sections with knowledge checking questionnaires throughout, learning objectives include:

• Appreciate the life cycle of package materials, the selection of packaging and general safety issues with packaging
• Appreciate how to pack materials in crates, on pallets and other packaging equipment
• Understand the construction requirements for pallets and crates
• Understand the requirements for packing with dangerous goods, preservation, drums, frames, bundles and electronic equipment
• Appreciate the marking and labelling of packing materials
• Be able to identify non-conforming packaging, packaging markings, and appreciate international ISPM15 standards
