An important part of Hytorc Norway's overall concept is courses and training in working on flanges and bolted connections. We have been involved in the development of courses since OLF started its Gas Leakage Project in 2003 and up to today's requirements which are in accordance with NS-EN 1591-4.

The industry's requirements for training have yielded results in the form of a significant reduction in the number of leaks both on and offshore. Executing operators gain better understanding and increased competence, which also provides a safer everyday life in this important work.

Basic courses in flange work run over four days of theoretical and practical training. Examination is carried out for both parts and upon passing, this gives an approval that is valid for five years.

Within the expiration date, a one-day refresher course must be completed, which, upon passing, gives a new five-year validity.

In Stavanger and Bergen, courses are conducted in new adapted premises. In addition, we have the opportunity to hold complete courses at the customers.

The main goal of the course is to provide the necessary and required training to be able to perform independent work on flanges and bolted connections.

The timetable covers the following tables in
NS EN 1591-4: 2013: 1, 2, 3, 6, 7 and 8.

Achievement striving involves setting personal goals and trying hard to achieve excellence. It constitutes the drive to keep learning and growing in the workplace, the willingness to apply intense effort over a long period of time to pursue one’s goals and resolve obstacles to achieve a target. This course presents the perfect opportunity for seafarers to be proactive and showcase that they are ready to meet the industry’s modern-day demands.

How will the course benefit my company?

Employers are now incorporating seafarer’s soft skills into their crewing decisions. The soft, ‘non-technical skills’ are increasingly important on board due to the rapidly changing workforce and automation of technical tasks. Additionally, maritime accident investigations indicate that a lack of soft skills and human error is the most common reason behind accidents at sea.

What standards are referenced in the course?

This course does not refer to specific legislation or standards.

Is there an assessment?

Once you have completed the course, you will be asked a series of questions to check your knowledge and understanding. These are based on the learning objectives for the course and have a pass mark of 70%.

Støv i arbeidsatmosfæren må reduseres i mange bransjer.

Innhold:

• Hva er støv?
• Støv og helseeffekter
• Valg av støvmaske
• Valg av støvfilter
• Tilpassing av maska
• Vedlikehold av maska

The port city of Tanger Med holds a fantastic sense of exotic mystery and the most intriguing history, stunning sights and unspoiled beach.

The life of a seafarer is by no means easy. Seafarers spend months at a time away from their loved ones. Needless to say, once the ship docks in port, many seafarers will often attempt to take some shore leave for a limited number of hours to provide them with a short respite from work duties and a change in scenery. This is extremely important to ensure the mental health and wellbeing of the seafarers.

In this course, we will provide you with all the information you need to know to spend a day in Tanger Med.
