If you want to know what is going to happen in the future, you definitely need to visit Tokyo. It offers the best combination of a strong dose of hypermodernism and an essence of history. Both cultures, as well as evolution, permeate the soul of the city. It is one of the world’s most populous cities, and its expansion rate is leaving all the predictions behind. Furthermore, it is driven by an unquenchable need for new ideas and advancement.

The life of a seafarer is by no means easy. Seafarers spend months at a time away from their loved ones. Needless to say, once the ship docks in port, many seafarers will often attempt to take some shore leave for a limited number of hours to provide them with a short respite from work duties and a change in scenery. This is extremely important to ensure the mental health and wellbeing of the seafarers.

In this course, we will provide you with all the information you need to know to spend a day in Tokyo.

All food handlers under the MLC are required to have a level 2 food safety certificate for the UK flag state the MCA (Maritime Coastguard Agency). However, some flag states for example Cayman Island and the Marshall Islands require Level 3 as well. It is an excellent practice that all supervisors in the food environment are trained to Level 3 so they can manage the team effectively in food safety and maintain high standards. This short course is an introduction to the supervisor's role as part of the full L3 qualification
