Ex basic is a course in electrical installations in explosive areas. The aim of the course is that those who work in explosive areas can carry out the work in a safe way.

The course will help users to experience both the course and the work afterwards as motivating and instructive. Our goal is that all employees are motivated to perform a safe and good job. Everyone who undergoes this course will be sufficiently qualified to be able to independently carry out the assignments that are planned with electrical installations within explosive areas.

Duration: Ex course is 8 hours

The recommended maximum time for evaluating competence is 5 years

The E-Learning course can also be taken as a refresher course after 5 years.

Description of simulator exercise

Following the Introduction to Sewage & Wastewater Treatment e-learning this exercise takes you through the steps to discharge wastewater safely overboard utilising the principles of MARPOL, utilizing the Engine room simulator from Kongsberg Digital.

All crew/personnel who are involved in the bunkering of LNG as a fuel.

Induction course in HSE is designed so that participants will have the first necessary expertise to ensure safety challenges in their daily work. This occurs in part through increased awareness of what is valuable and should be prioritized. The course also draws attention to the main framework governing the HSE The course is designed in order to create interest and motivation to work with HSE in the workplace.

Is there an assessment?

Course assessment has two attempts to pass at 70% of higher.

Section 7 of the “Safety Regulations for Work and Operation of Electrical Equipment and Installations” (FSE) sets requirements for yearly FSE training for relevant personnel. This e-learning course takes you through the requirements of the regulations and gives you training and instruction in FSE. The course focuses on safety for work on low voltage installations.

Målsetningen med kurset er at kranoperatør skal tilegne seg tilstrekkelig kunnskap om sikker bruk av G5 offshorekraner til å håndtere last internt på innretning, til og fra fartøy mellom faste eller flytende innretninger og undervannsløft på en sikker måte. Risikoforståelse, riktig adferd, teknisk systemforståelse og krav i NORSOK R-003 er hovedfokus under gjennomføring.

Regardless of how safely and robust petroleum operations are, errors, hazards and accidents can still occur. Therefore, barriers must be established to protect against accidents. This basic course covers the key concepts of barrier management to ensure a common understanding of them. 

The course is based on Proactima’s model for holistic barrier management and builds on the Norwegian Offshore Directorate’s (Havtil) Barrier Memorandum 2017. The content contributors are personnel from Proactima with technical and operational experience in barrier management. Throughout the course, emphasis is placed on practical understanding by using the 2020 fire at Hammerfest LNG as an example. 

The e-learning course can be taken by its own or used as a foundation for further in-depth learning beyond Havtil’s Barrier Memorandum.

Proactima offers such in-depth learning as an advanced course delivered by an instructor, either digitally or in person. The advanced course is designed to enable participants to establish, follow up on, and improve the barrier management system in their own company/installation, and to provide insight into a practical method for barrier management in operations.
